Education
	The problems in public education are examples of the unnecessary influence of the federal government. "No Child Left Behind" works for no one. Local school boards - not Washington, not the State - are more in-touch with the needs of students, teachers and communities. I will work to ensure that the "one size fits all" educational policies now running rampant in government become a relic.

Energy
	With an abundance of wind, solar exposure and agricultural land, Kansas is well situated to lead in developing smart energy alternatives. Current leadership has failed to address this key issue. I will be a strong advocate in researching and developing all reasonable energy options.

Fiscal Responsibility
	The age-old problem of controlling expenses to allow for lower taxes remains unsolved in Topeka. I will be a strong voice for a return to common-sense fiscal policy. As the only candidate in my race to sign the Kansas Taxpayer Protection Pledge, you can count on me to understand that tax revenue is YOUR money - not mine.

Eminent Domain Abuse

The U.S. Constitution is clear - property shall not be taken for PUBLIC use without just compensation. Unfortunately property rights are being trampled by governments and developers under the guise of "urban renewal." I have fought for property rights and will continue to do in the legislature. My first act will be to introduce an amendment to the Kansas Constitution ensuring eminent domain will NEVER be used for private development in our state.

Privacy Rights
	Privacy is the cornerstone of every individual's liberty. I have spoken out in the media against such measures as DNA collection and the Real ID act. Unfortunately, the vast majority of Republicans and Democrats seem unconcerned (even enthusiastic) about these actions. I will never sacrifice your privacy rights for political gain.
